❤️ July Celebrates Independence & Mental Health Awareness ❤️

July is a time to reflect on freedom, resilience, and the importance of supporting every individual and family in our communities. As we celebrate American independence, we also recognize National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month — a reminder that access to mental health support, understanding, and compassionate care should be available to everyone.

Mental health challenges can affect anyone, but many minority communities continue to face barriers to care, stigma, and unequal access to resources. Connected Families NH is committed to helping families feel seen, supported, and connected by sharing resources that encourage emotional wellness, inclusion, and community support.

👉 Find support, education, and mental health resources:

  • NAMI NH — Mental health education, support groups, and family resources, including help navigating identity-related stress and emotional wellness. Contact 1-800-242-6264 (press 4) or info@NAMINH.org.
  • New Hampshire DHHS — Mental health services, crisis support, treatment resources, and community-based care programs for individuals and families across New Hampshire. Call or text 833-710-6477 for support.
  • SAMHSA National Helpline — Free, confidential treatment referral and information services available 24/7. Call 1-800-662-HELP (4357).
  • Mental Health America — Information, screening tools, and educational resources focused on mental wellness, early support, and reducing stigma.
  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — Free, confidential emotional support available 24/7. Call or text 988.

Strong communities are built when individuals and families feel supported, heard, and connected. Sometimes the most meaningful act of independence is knowing when to ask for help and reminding others they do not have to face challenges alone.
