October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

This month, we raise awareness about domestic violence, honor survivors, and remind individuals and families that help is available. Domestic violence can affect people of all backgrounds, and recognizing the signs of abuse and knowing where to find support can make an important difference.

Connected Families NH is committed to helping families build safe, healthy, and supportive relationships. By listening without judgment, sharing trusted resources, and creating spaces where people feel comfortable asking for help, we can help strengthen families and communities.

Find support, education, and resources:

  • New Hampshire Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence — Support, information, and connections to crisis centers throughout New Hampshire for survivors and their families.
  • Center for Safer Communities — Support and resources for survivors across Connected Families NH catchment areas. (Sullivan, Lower Grafton County, Cheshire and Western Hillsborough County)
  • WISE — Support and resources for survivors in Lebanon, Vermont, and the lower Grafton County area.
  • New Hampshire DHHS — Information and resources to help individuals and families access safety, support, and services throughout New Hampshire.
  • Love is Respect — Information, tools, and confidential support to help young people recognize unhealthy relationships and dating abuse.
  • National Domestic Violence Hotline — Free, confidential support available 24/7. Call 1-800-799-SAFE (7233), text START to 88788, or connect through online chat.
  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — Free, confidential support 24/7: Call or text 988

Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected in their relationships and at home. This October, we can help by learning the signs of abuse, supporting survivors, and making sure those who need help know they are not alone.
